Xuanqian Wang literally landed with a splash on a rainy GT Celebration weekend at Road Atlanta. Racing his Speed Club prepared Huracan GT3 Evo for the first time, Wang outran the competition by nearly six seconds during a rain-soaked qualifying session. Although the track was dry for the start of Race 1, the Speed Club team chose to go with rain tires as it looked like the rain could arrive again at any moment…which it did, on the pace lap! Wang steadily pulled clear of the pack and held a healthy lead until the race was red flagged for accident cleanup at the halfway mark. Upon restart, Wang fell to second overall but first in class where he remained until the checkered flag. A very impressive first outing for Wang and the Speed Club team in their GT3 season debut.
